Students-guardians Fears not to Get Places in Public Varsities

Lowest pass rate in Comilla

Students and their parents fears not to get a place in the country's public universities, engineering and medical colleges due to a lower number of GPA-5 and not much better results of HSC 2016 in Comilla Education Board.

They said, the students of Comilla Education Board could not achieve the desired 80 percent marks in English, ICT, Physics and Biology than the other education boards. Many students have become disappointed about this. Their dreams of studying in engineering, medical have been shattered.

This year the students under Comilla Education Board performed poor in terms of pass rate compared to other education boards with 64.49 percent pass rate.

However, in terms of its own performance the board secured better results compared to the previous year's performance. Last year, the pass rate of Comilla Board was 59.80 percent.

Account BenefitA total of 109,760 examinees appeared in the HSC examination under the Comilla Board this year. Of the total, 69,895 came out successful. Of the successful students, 33,996 are male and 35,899 female. Some 1,912 students secured grade point average GPA-5 from the board.

Madrasa Education Board secured the top position in this year's HSC and equivalent examinations, among the ten education boards, with 88.19 percent pass rate.

The pass rate of Technical Education Board is 84.57 percent, while it is 83.42 percent in Jessore Board, 75.40 percent in Rajshahi Board, 73.53 percent in Dhaka, 70.64 percent in Dinajpur, 70.13 percent in Barisal Board, 68.59 percent in Sylhet, 64.60 percent in Chittagong Board and 64.49 percent in Comilla Board.
