Parliamentary debate at LU

The final and prize giving ceremony of University Debate League-2015 organized by the debating club of Leading University (LU) was held on December 21, 2015.

The program was held in the Hall Room of the campus on Surma Tower in the city. The team 'English Giant' of English department took part as the opposition party in the parliamentary debate titled "this University Parliament considers that it is possible to ensure the safety of people through shut the social media" and 'Learners of LU' team of Business Studies department took part as the government party.

English Giant wins the debate by defeating the Learners of LU only for 18 marks. Happy Akter of the English Giant team elected as the best debater.

Account BenefitUniversity Vice-Chancellor (Designated) Professor Dr. Md. Kabir Hossain as the chief guest in the debate competition and special guest Pro-VC Professor Dr. SM Saiful Islam distributed prizes among the winners.

Acting Head of the English department Mohamed Nazrul Islam was the Parliament Speaker, Assistant Professor of the English department Md. Rezaul Karim, debating club advisors Shantanu Hasan and Farhad Hassan were the judges.

Guests and judges were given the honoring memorials on behalf of the debating club. Lieutenant Colonel Munir Ahmed Kaderi (Ret.); Deputy Registrar Engineer Md. Lutfar Rahman, teachers, public relations officer, club members and students were present this time.
