    The use of technology in the field of education is becoming indispensable worldwide. The effectiveness of using e-learning tools in the classroom has been studied and proved time and time again. From online university courses to audio books to cooking classes to infinite volumes of data, E-learning is rapidly transforming the way we gather knowledge.

    Integrating technology into the classroom has become the new way to share knowledge and involve students in the learning process. Even beyond classroom, technology has transformed the education system and helped us view any data that we want. If you are an MBA aspirant or want to get into journalism and could not have access to quality teachers then all you need to do is to click. Yes, this was beyond our dreams years ago but not anymore. All thanks to enhanced connectivity and a wide range of solutions available in the market. Though it is so limited in Bangladesh, but soon this kind of facilities will be available in Bangladeshi universities.

    Information technology is capable of capturing a student's attention through visual representation of concepts taught, sounds, moving pictures as well as interactive activities. A student may sleep through a lecture on the human digestive system. But if he can see visually how the digestive system works, actually see animations of the food moving through the body, listen to the relevant sounds and then do an interactive activity related to the topic, he will find it worth his interest.

    Earlier, students used to learn from text books and teachers only, and the need for technology was never recognized. If students can succeed in school without technology then why are we spending money to equip our classrooms with smart technology products. It might be a complex issue to understand whether technology should be used in the education system or not, but certainly it is adding value to learning. As education is quite influential in determining the development and growth of our nation, technology, in this regard is relevant to be used. It is also for us to act globally while involving students in the process of learning.

    The ubiquitous appearance of technology in today's world has encouraged us to adapt it in the education system in the best possible manner.

    Moreover, technology is required to advance the way teachers teach and students learn. Digital learning tools like computers and hand held devices have fashioned the classrooms and enabled students develop various techniques and modes of learning. Owing to the use of technology, teachers and scholars have been able to provide effective learning experiences to students. Technology has also helped students observe information, reflect on the same, compare with their experiences as well as consider new ways to act. The use of new learning opportunities and technologically advanced educational resources can eventually amplify students' educational productivity. Moreover, contemporary technology helps in accelerating a student's learning rate, reducing costs associated with instructional materials or program delivery and better utilizing teacher time.

    Moreover, in today's scenario, teachers are required to get trained to understand how to teach in a different manner. They must know how student-centric learning methods can be applied to classrooms, to increase educational outcomes. By directing various student learning activities, instructors will not merely help student attain good test scores, but also, increase attendance, attention and participation of the student. By making technology an integrated tool in the field of education, educators can create successful and competitive contributors to the new global market.

    The internet basically provides three basic types of tools in the education domain tools for research, tools for communication and tools for construction.

    In providing tools for construction, the internet promotes learning by scaffolding varieties of authentic learning activities for students.

    In Bangladesh, however, the use of internet among students is limited to social networking and entertainment. The reason being, lack of appropriate content from the field of education and absence of research based activities and assignments from schools. Inquisitive students often feel lost in the humongous sea of information available on the internet.
