China is a prosperous state, since the ancient times. Population of this country is much more than any countries in the world. Most of the people are educated in China.

Culture and education of the country has the main role in the economic development of this large country. And it has been possible due to the numerous educational institutions throughout the country.

Under the official approval of the Ministry of Education, Beijing Union University was established in January 1985 on the basis of the branch campuses of key universities in Beijing, which comprised 12 colleges at its establishment.

Over 30 years of evolution and development, it has undergone changes of merger, branch-out, establishment, revocation, and integration. Today, BUU consists of 14 colleges: College of Applied Arts and Science, Teachers' College, Business College, College of Biochemical Engineering, Tourism College, College of Continuing Education, College of Information Technology, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Automation College, Management College, College of Special Education, Advertising College, College of Applied Science and Technology and College of International Education.

Scholarships for International Students:
Beijing Municipal Government grants over 3 million RMB to international students at our university every year. Over 150 students who have excelled in academic performance are awarded scholarships every semester.

Account BenefitThe first prize is 10,000 RMB; the second prize, 5,000 RMB; the third prize, 3,000 RMB; prize for encouragement, 1,000 RMB; and prize for full attendance, 500 RMB (with no limit in the number of students awarded).

Accommodation:
International students are provided with accommodations in the International Apartment Building. There are two buildings at present, Building C and Building D on Northern Campus, with 107 standard rooms for 208 students. Most of these rooms have private bathrooms, air-conditioners, television sets, telephone, bookshelves, desks and internet access. There is a lobby in each building, and a shared kitchen, a public bathroom and a laundry room on every floor.
