Russian Language Day observed at DIU

Daffodil International University observed Russian Language Day on June 6, 2017. To mark the day International Affairs Office of Daffodil International University (DIU) and Russian Center of Science & Culture in Dhaka jointly organized a seminar and Quiz competition at Auditorium-71 of DIU.

Mr. Alexander P. Denim, First Secretary and Head of Cultural Department, Embassy of Russian Federation in Bangladesh was present at the program as the Chief Guest. Dr. Taibul Hasan Khan, Prof. Dept. of History Jahangirnagar University and Mr. Zahid Reza Noor, Feature Editor, The Daily Prothom Alo were present as keynote speaker while Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director of International Affairs & IQAC presided over the seminar and Dr. Binoy Barman, Director of Daffodil Institute Languages (DIL) also spoke on the program.

On the quiz competition Riti Barua, Student of CSE won 1st prize while Md. Abu Saleh and Umme Lisa, Student of English won 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.
Addressing as the Chief Guest Mr. Alexander P. Denim said that, We can spread Russian Language and culture among young Bangladeshi students through this kind of seminar and Daffodil International University is organizing the Russian Language Day regularly for the last few days.
Dr. Taibul Hasan Khan said that the history of Russia is full of revolution. By various kinds of revolution and movement Russia has come this position and changes are still going on and now Russia is trying to fight back again.

Account BenefitMr. Zahid Reza Noor spoke about the literature of Russia. Mainly he focused on the Russian literature of Eighteen Century. He said, if we can realize Russian literature then we can be a global citizen.
