Teachers should avoid coaching

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on September 25, 2016 (Sunday) said, good teachers should perform well in classrooms, not in coaching centers.

The education minister came up with the comment while speaking as the chief guest at a fresher orientation program of class XI students at Govt. Shaheed Suhrawardy College in Dhaka.

He also urged the guardians to get united for stopping coaching business. "If guardians get united against the handful of dishonest teachers who involved in coaching business, it'll be possible to ease the sufferings of students by ensuring the accountability of teachers in classrooms", he said.

Account BenefitHe said the government has raised the salaries of teachers more than double along with public servants, and they are being given various trainings on creative methods and modern technology use for teaching in classrooms.

"It's totally unacceptable that teachers will set up a trap of coaching centre for students by not properly imparting them lessons in classrooms despite availing of all the government facilities", Nahid said.

He said the government will be able to completely root out the coaching business by unscrupulous teachers if the guardians extend their all-out cooperation to it.
