KUET Day on September 1

The thirteenth founding anniversary (University Day) of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) will be celebrated on September 01, 2016 (Thursday).

An elaborated program has been undertaken on behalf of the university to celebrate the day. Whole campus of the University is in festive mode.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will be present as the chief guest on the occasion, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Alamgir will preside over the program.

University Public Relations and Information Section Officer Manoj Kumar Majumder confirmed that information on August 28, 2016 (Sunday) afternoon.

Manoj Kumar said, on the occasion of University Day- friendly meeting in front of the administrative building at 10:10 am; University Day inauguration through hoisting the national flag and university flag at 10:30 am; joy rally at 10:45 am; project show at 11:15 am; Technical Paper Presentation at 11:20 am; discussion meeting at 11:40 am; newly-build leather engineering building and guest house-cum club inauguration at 1:10 pm; different departmental lab opening for visitors at 3:00 pm; chief guest's view exchange with the teachers at 3:15 pm; student-teacher friendly football match at 4:00 pm; doa mahfil after Asr prayer and cultural events will be held in the evening.

Account BenefitKhulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), which started functioning from September 2003, is one of the five engineering universities of Bangladesh in higher education, research and development in engineering and technology. This university was established as Khulna Engineering College in 1974; the college was later converted to a degree-awarding autonomous institution called Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Khulna in July 1986 through a government ordinance (No. XXI, 1986).

The institute was upgraded and renamed as Khulna University of Engineering and Technology in September 2003 under the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology Act, 2003.
