GUB and Air Force Holds Tree Plantation Program

Tree plantation program at GUB

Natural disasters, tidal surge, flood, draught, river erosion, excessive ice-melting, huge dunes on the one hand and on the other hand, man-made kilns, wastage and smoke from factories, smoke from vehicles, careless dumping of garbage here and there have caused immense harm to the global environment.

Our life is being affected adversely by the rise of greenhouse effect. Water pollution has caused immense threats to the aquatic animals and plants. Reduction of oxygen and increase of carbon-di-oxide have caused adverse effect on human life and civilization.

To save our globe from these adverse effects, tree plantation, its preservation and nourishment have no alternative. A tree gives us flowers, fruits, timber and above all, helps us survive providing oxygen factory. With this aim in view, Green University of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Air Force has organized a tree plantation program on the 23rd day of August 2016 at 10:00 am at Bangladesh Air Force in Dhaka (Base Bashar).

Account BenefitGreen University of Bangladesh offered Bangladesh Air Force 600 saplings of Coconut, Lychee, Amrapali, Mehagoni, Nim, Telsur, Amloki, Gamari and Teak as gifts. Professor Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of GUB handed over these saplings to GP Captain MA Awal Hossain of Bangladesh Air Force.

To inaugurate this program, Professor Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir and GP Captain MA Awal Hossain jointly planted a sapling. The Treasurer and Director of Student Affairs of Green University of Bangladesh, Md. Shahid Ullah, some faculty members, students of Green University of Bangladesh and Wg Cadre SM Shamimul Haque, Wg Cadre SM Enamul Haque Sqn Ldr Joarder Serazul Islam and some other high officials of Bangladesh Air Force took part in this tree plantation program.
