200 More Seats for DU Admission this Year

200 seats increased at DU

The authorities of Dhaka University (DU) increased the number of seats through adding 200 seats for the admission seekers for the academic session 2016-17.

DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique announced that at the online application process inauguration ceremony on August 22, 2016 (Monday).

DU VC said 200 more seats have been added this year with the introduction of new departments. Two Honors courses have been introduced in the Japanese Studies and Chinese Studies departments.

The total number of seats at DU was 6655 in the 2015-16 academic session. The number of seats subsequently increased to 6800, with 1680 seats in Ka unit, 2241 seats in Kha unit, 1170 and 1440 seats in Ga and Gha units respectively, and 135 seats in Cha unit.

Account BenefitEvery year, the number of seats is increased during the period for the processing of applications. The deadline of this year's application online is September 08, 2016. Calculators, mobile phones, watches and any other electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall like previous year. A mobile court will operate during the admission tests to avert any kind of fraudulence.

Admit cards for Kha and Cha unit can be downloaded from Sep 11 to the date of examination until 9:00 am and for Ka, Ga, and Gha units Sep 15, 3:00 pm to the date of examination until 9:00 am. Detailed information relating to admission can be found on: (http://admission.eis.du.ac.bd).
