Anti-terrorism Seminar Held at Asian University

Anti-terrorism seminar AUB

A seminar against terrorism and extremism was held at the Ayesha Auditorium of Asian University of Bangladesh (AUB) on August 10, 2016.

The seminar was presided over by the founder Vice-Chancellor of AUB Professor Dr. Abul Hasan Muhammad Sadeq. Chairman of Criminology department of Dhaka University Professor Dr. Zia Rahman was the keynote speaker, and editor of the Daily Protidiner Songbad Mr. Abu Sayeed Khan was the guest of honor.

In his speech the keynote speaker said, at one time, heading towards militancy was seen as because of poverty and low education. But in the current context, university studying students of rich families are involving in militancy.

The Vice-Chancellor in his presidential speech said, there is no place for terrorism in Islam. Country's young generation is being led towards wrong path due to the providers of incorrect interpretation of religion. He urged the Islamic scholars of the country to think about it.

Account BenefitUniversity Treasurer Advocate Abul Kalam Azad, Registrar Professor Dr. Mohammad Saiful Islam, Examination Controller KM Monirul Islam, faculty Deans, departmental heads, teachers, employees-staffs and students were present on the occasion among others.

Sports materials provided by the Honorable Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Mr. Arif Khan Joy were distributed among the students.
