The 8th SAU Board of Governors' Meeting Held

SAU Board of Governors' meeting

The 8th meeting of the Board of Governors of the South Asian University (SAU) was held today at the Paradise Island Resort of Male, Maldives.

The meeting chaired by Azleem Ahmed, Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Maldives, a UGC official release said that on February 09, 2016.

The SAU owned by SAARC countries, its main campus in New Delhi with provision of setting up regional campuses in all SAARC countries. Representatives from all SAARC countries were attended the meeting.

The two-member Bangladesh delegation was led by Abdul Mannan, chairman,University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh. The other member of the delegation was SM Anisul Haque, Director General of SAARC and BIMSTEC, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh.

Account BenefitProfessor Abdul Mannan has been elected member of the Finance Committee of South Asian University for the next three years term. The meeting discussed various issues as how to make the SAU a centre of excellence of learning in the region.
