Inter-Private University Football Tournament Kicks Off

Football tournament starts at DIU

Inter-Private University Football Tournament-2015 kicks off at Daffodil International University Permanent Campus at Ashulia, Dhaka on November 24, 2015.

The tournament is organized by Clan Management Limited with the support of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and Daffodil International University (DIU).

Former national football player and chairman of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ashrafuddin Ahmed Chunnu inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest. Md. Sabur Khan, chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University was present as guest of honor while former national football player Abdul Gaffar was present as the special guest.

In his speech the chief guest, Ashrafuddin Ahmed Chunnu said, "Sport is a part and parcel of education and sportsmanship is an easier way of gaining knowledge for students. I hope this tournament will be continued and through this tournament, players like Salahuddin, Abdus Salam Murshedy, Aslam and many other renowned players will come out."

DIU Chairman Md. Sabur Khan said, "From the very beginning, Daffodil International University has been giving highest emphasis on sports besides education and we are trying to build up the university as a sports-oriented university and for that, all sorts of sports facilities have been set up. DIU students have proved their success records in SAF Games, Bangladesh Olympic and many other national and international events."

Participating teams are East West University, Daffodil International University Bangladesh University of Business and Technology, BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology, Brac University, South East University, Independent University, City University, International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, Shanto Mariam University of Creative Technology, Eastern University, United International University and University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh.
