ACM-ICPC 2015 at NSU

The final round of ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest-2015, Dhaka Regional site launched on November 13, 2015 (Friday) at North South University (NSU).

The purpose of the contest is to provide a great opportunity for organizations to support local students to enhance their skills in solving programming problems.

North South University (NSU) is hosting this prestigious event for the 12th time. 122 teams indigenous to different universities from all across Bangladesh are participating in this contest. These teams have come up competing in the hard fought preliminary round.

In the inaugural ceremony, Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, former adviser to the Caretaker Government, Bangladesh and Vice-Chancellor of University of Asia Pacific attended as the chief guest where Professor Dr. Gour Gobinda Goswami, Vice-Chancellor in charge, NSU chaired.

Account BenefitDr. Abul L. Haque, Director, ACM-ICPC Dhaka Site 2015 and Professor of NSU delivered the welcome address. Among others Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam, Dean, School of Engineering and Physical Sciences; Dr. KMA Salam and Dr. Shazzad Hosain, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, NSU also delivered speeches.

All the participants joined a practice session after the inaugural ceremony. On 14th November 2015, the final round took place from 8:00 am onward which ended up with a closing and prize giving ceremony later in the evening.

The champion team from the Dhaka Regional will qualify for the World Final of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest which will be held at Prince of Songkla University, Phuket, Thailand from 15th to 20th May, 2016.
