How to Build Your Successful Career as a Film Maker
It is very common in industrialized countries for a household to have at least one television. In fact, it is so common that it is difficult to imagine a house without TV.
This shows just how important television is. Television is perhaps one of the fastest growing industries in the country as opposed to the dismal condition of the film industry. However, there was one thing common to both of them - shortage of talent and skilled manpower who can bring fresh impulsion to the industries.
Television study is an academic discipline that deals with critical approaches to television. Usually, it is distinguished from mass-communication research, which tends to approach the topic from an empirical perspective. Defining the field is problematic; some institutions and syllabuses do not distinguish it from media studies or classify it as a subfield of popular culture studies. Television study is roughly equivalent to the longer-standing discipline of film studies in that it is often concerned with textual analysis.
Students of the Film Studies Department are getting the opportunity of part-time works during the period of study at University. A vast work opportunity is available at the electronic media, various advertising agencies and international NGOs after completing Bachelor's. In addition, students of this department have the opportunity to build a career through the freelance filmmaking.
Chairman of the Television and Film Studies Department of Dhaka University, AJM Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan said, "In this era of globalization, the carrier of films has a wide range. Students have the opportunity to work in the world of cinema in country or abroad."
