Take Specialized Training to Get Better Salary Abroad
The number of Bangladeshi expatriates in different countries of the world including Middle East is 86 lakh. According to a research of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) published in 2012, nearly 88 percent of these workers go abroad without any training.
But a six-month or one-year training may increase workers' wages two or three times more. Several government and private institutions are providing vocational training in the country.
There are 51 technical training centers listed by the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare. Anyone willing to go abroad can take training from these institutions with nominal fee. Various short-term trainings are conducting in those 51 institutions listed by Manpower, Employment and Training Bureau located in different districts. There are four Marine Technology Institute's in Narayanganj, Faridpur, Bagerhat and Sirajganj. Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Centre in Darus Salam in the Dhaka and Bangladesh-German Technical Training Centre in Mirpur-2. The remaining 45 centers located in 45 districts of the country.
What types of training are offered?
Different types of trainings are held at the training centers considering the low-educated people. However, not only abroad, anyone can be self-reliant in the country by taking training from there. Technical training centers providing training on- housekeeping, various types of garment industry works, refrigeration, air-conditioning, tiles fitting, welding and fabrication, language, IT, and various types of automobiles and electronics works.
Who can be admitted?
Educational qualification is not a must for admission in the training centers of Manpower, Employment and Training Bureau. Class eight pass is the required educational qualification for most of the courses. However, the educational qualification is SSC pass for some courses. Written or oral test is taken before the candidate selection.

A nominal cost is needed for the training in technical training centers. There are two types of training- regular and self-financed for the trainees there. The regular courses are conducted in the day, and the cost is five hundred to seven hundred taka. Anyone can take the training in night. The evening courses are self-funded, and trainees have to pay the training costs. The cost is two to three thousand taka. However, it is more or less depending on the course.
Duration of the course:
Usually there are six weeks to one-year trainings available depending on the course. People are willing to take training can choose courses according to their needs.
Training sessions:
Vocational training centers are conducting trainings throughout the year. Usually a training program starts after the completion of another training. Advertisement is given in the newspaper before the start of the course. Which trainings are providing that time, training start date, duration of the course, how much costs etc. details are given in the advertisement.
Training in private institutions:
There are many private training centers alongside the government training centers located in the capital and different places of the country. These training centers are taking trainees any time of the year. The course fees are comparatively higher.
However, whether in public or private, there is the no alternative of training to go abroad with good salary. Keep in mind, there are three times pay gap between skilled and unskilled workers!
