15 RU Female Students Fall Sick of Food Poisoning

RU female students fall sick

15 female students of Begum Khaleda Zia Hall of Rajshahi University (RU) on 29 March 2015, fell-sick by taking poisonous and unhealthy foods at the meals.

Hall sources said that the sick students were admitted to the university medical centre while three of them were sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) for better treatment.

Seriously ill students were identified as Mariom Akter of Bangla department, Ornia of Management department, Monira Sultana of Fine Arts department, Rahima Khatun of Botany department, Mou of Geography and Environment department, Airin Sultana of Statistics department, Akhi Akter of Crop Science department, Sabina Akter of Sociology department, Priyanka of Biochemistry department and Hasna Hena of Psychology department.

Account BenefitAmong them, Mariom Akter, Ornia and Monira Sultana are seriously ill. Mariom Akter cannot be able to take part her 2nd year final exam on March 29, 2015.

The residential students of that hall claimed that primarily some students felt in sick following taking their meal at the hall dining at Saturday night. The students informed the matter to the hall authority but the authority did not respond to it. Later other students also fell sick at night after taking same food that was served at the Sunday morning at hall dining.

When contacted the hall provost Professor Dilruba Akter Banu said that the hall authority will take decision after investigating in to the incident.
