NU Bachelor 1st year admission

Bachelor (Hons) 1st year admission process of National University (NU) for current session (2015-16) has begins with new regulations.

National University would not go for the entrance exam this year and would admit first-year students based on their SSC and HSC results.

The honors 1st year admission process for current session (2015-16) has been started on October 01, 2015 and the classes for admitted students will begin from December 01, 2015 under the crash program of National University to reduce the session jam. This will save 4 months for students.

The Bachelor (Hons) 1st year admission process and class for the next academic year (2016-2017) will be started earlier than this year. The NU authorities declared to complete admission process early this year in a bid to unshackle the students from severe session jam as part of a crash program for bringing an end to session jam.

Eligibility for application:
Candidates who passed SSC/equivalent exam in 2011, 2012 or 2013 and HSC/equivalent exam in 2014 or 2015 under any recognized board of Bangladesh can apply for the admission. Candidates must obtain total GPA 5.00 in both SSC & HSC and minimum CGPA 2.00 in each exam.

Online application procedure:
Students have to visit the website for online application: (www.nu.edu.bd/admission). They have to upload a scanned copy of passport size photograph after completing the application form filling. The size of the picture must be 120*150 pixels.

Account BenefitCandidates will see the list of colleges and their subjects in the website. They can choose 1 to 15 subjects choice list from that website. Separate merit list according to the GPA will be made for each college.

Candidates have to submit the application fee Tk. 250/- to the concern college within October 30, 2015 through print the application form with photo. Results for the selected candidates for each college will be published through 1st merit list, 2nd merit list (if any empty seats left), quota and release slip.

There are about 30 to 35 subjects available in the National University. However, these subjects are given according to the merit list; but every college does not have all of the subjects, so it is better to choice subjects first, then college.

Subjects to study in NU:
Faculty of Arts- Bengali, English, Philosophy, History, Islamic Studies, Islamic history, Arabic, Pali and Sanskrit. Faculty of Social Sciences- Economics, Political Science, Social Sciences, Social Work Public Administration, Anthropology, Home Economy.

Faculty of Science- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Zoology, Botany, Psychology, Geology, Geography, Computer Science. Faculty of Business Studies- Banking and Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Management. Faculty of Law- Law.
