The construction work of academic building of Shahid Saiyad Nazrul Islam Medical College and it's hostel haven't begun yet because it has not got approval of ECNEC. Moreover, this college has no requisition of any land for establishing it's own campus.

Principal of the College Monsur Khalil said, `The College has got study permit, students have also registered. But for not getting approval of ECNEC we are not taking steps to construct academic building and own campus. Satkhira, Goplagonj and Kustia medical college also granted at the same time, but they have already got approval of ECNEC. Construction works of those colleges for their own campus building have been initiated. Under this project, it will be executed before 2014. We also promised to build three buildings in this year. Admission of next batch will begin from October. We are tensed about this. `

From the college source it is informed that, 33 female students and 20 male students admitted in the 1st year. Then four rooms of nursing institute were allocated for the medical college students. Prof. Monsur Khalil was then appointed as the principal. Later, 20 professors, associate professors were appointed. The classes of 1st year officially began from 1st January, 2012. The male hostel was established by renting a house in the city and 3th, 4th class employee's residence building was turned into female hostel.

Principal of Nursing Institute Selin Jamuna informed, 2 batches study is currently running at Nursing Institute. Third batch will come on upcoming October.
