Graduates of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry have contributed to meet the country's growing population's demand for meat. The graduates are working to produce fodder and animal drugs. Veterinary and animal husbandry is two different fields.

Patuakhali Science and Technology University and Bangladesh Agricultural University have different degrees in livestock. A number of other universities are offering combined degrees on Veterinary and Animal Sciences. That's why; there are some differences in employment. A lot of job opportunities are available in country as well as abroad. As a result, young people are being attracted to make a career in this profession.

Professor of Animal Nutrition department at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mohammad Al-Mamun said, graduates of this faculty are in a much better position and working in different countries.

Professor, Department of Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary, Md. Abu Hadi Noor Ali Khan said, Veterinarians are not just limited to the treatment of animals, they doing research on the diseases spreading among human from birds and animals. Veterinarians have much demand in foreign countries. Many foreign students are now studying at the University.

Job opportunities:
There is the opportunity to become a university teacher if any bears good results. And has the opportunity to join as the Upazila veterinary surgeon by attending the BCS test, which is later promoted to district livestock officer. Can be join as a lecturer in various training institutes. And can be joined as a scientific officer at the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI).

Account BenefitVeterinary and Animal Husbandry graduates are employed in the government organization Milk Vita, Bangladesh Central Cattle Breeding Center at Savar and dairy farms, Deer Breeding Center at Cox's Bazar, Goat Breeding Center at Sylhet, Buffalo Breeding Center at Bagerhat, Crocodile Breeding Center in several places and wild animals breeding centers.

They are working as the curator with cadre and non-cadre officer at various zoos in the country. Many of the graduates are working in the Youth Development Centers and Youth Training Centers.

Many of them have gained knowledge about these subjects and being self-sufficient in poultry and dairy farms. However, there are huge private sector jobs for these graduates. There are job opportunities in private milk and poultry farms, BRAC, Feed Mill and various NGOs and international organizations. Among them, Aarong Dairy, Kazi Farms, Aftab Versatile Farm, Milk Vita, CP Food is mentionable.
