Science students are decreases rapidly from class nine to upper. This inattentiveness is seen more at rural school and colleges. The encircle is also getting smaller day by day in Dhaka city except some prominent educational institutions.

Science students are decreases from the starting of Group level and then the number gradually decreases in next steps, says the four different governmental and non-governmental reports. Business students are increases reportedly than Science. It was seen in previous four years that 22 percent students in secondary level and 17 percent students in higher secondary level are studying in Science Group.

The Freedom Foundation a non-governmental organization in 2011 has operated a survey on 140 secondary schools of 7 Divisions to inquiry the reason of decreasing the Science student. In that survey they asked the students of class Eight, which Group you want to take in class nine. 73 percent of students answered they want to take Science Group. But their decision was changed when they chose Group. The act of exam result, teacher and parents was hiding behind the decision changes.

The same image has appeared in the survey of educational information and research affairs government organization 'Bangladesh Bureau of Education Information and Statistics (BANBEIS)'. The survey of the organizations says that 14 lakh 51 thousand students were in the class eight in 2009. They choose Groups in the start of Class Nine. 2 lakh 40 thousand out of 12.50 lakh students have takes the Science Group, which is only 19 percent of the total students. After one year, 24 thousand has fallen before the exam, 78 thousand are failed the exam.

Account BenefitBANBEIS says students are same in 6 mandatory subjects out of the 24 subjects of secondary level. But the students are quite low in the Science Group. 2 lakh 68 thousand in Physics of Class Nine in 2012, 2 lakh 69 thousand in Chemistry, 2 lakh 56 thousand in Biology and 1 lakh 54 thousand students had higher mathematics. At the same time about 5 lakh in History and Geography, 3 lakh 97 thousand students were in Business Policy.

The last 11 years (2003 - 2013), an average 11 percent decrease from secondary level, also 5 percent decreases from higher secondary level. But it was said in the latest National Education-Policy, 'Only the Science Education can Quickly Reach Its Intended Goals for a Nation'. For the progress of Science Education four for primary, four for secondary and six subjects to take for higher education are mentioned in the Education-Policy. But none of these techniques have been implemented in the past three years. The decrease in Science Group discussed for several years, but the government does not taken any Initiatives.
