BRAC University Business Club (BIZ BEE), one of the leading clubs of BRAC University, carries out co-curricular activities like arranging seminar, round table discussion, workshop, job fair, study tour and factory visits to equip business students with vast outer knowledge.

In this respect, BIZ BEE, to observe and explore the real business situation, organised a short tour at IFAD Multi Products Ltd factory on November 15. The factory authority welcomed BIZ BEE with a very pleasant greeting. Firstly, they divided all the students into three groups so that the whole plant can be visited in a disciplined way. Aprons, caps, and shoe covers were given for maintaining hygienic fact. Three different sectors of the factory- noodles production unit, water plant and biscuit production unit were shown and described by the experts in a very proficient way. “Before entering any plant, it is mandatory for everyone to wash their hands for being germless,” said quality manager Jakir Hossain.

The plant manager of biscuit production plant, C.K. Sharma showed students five chambers of production steps with very detailed explanation of operation. Mixer, oven, hopper, mold, biscuit line, packaging system, magnetic grill and metal detector machineries have made biscuit production very efficient. Eighteen types of biscuits are produced by Ifad Multi Product Ltd factory.

Then, S.M. Haider Ali, the plant manager of water plant, showed the two segments of water plant where one is bottle making process and another water purifying and packing process. Raw material of these bottles is Pet Resin that is around 95% eco-friendly. IFAD water processing is done in seven layers and water is collected from 500 feet depth. It is really a very strong water plant with carbon filter, multi filter, several grate filter, ozone generator, and ozone tower and at the same time they are also making much disinfected bottle for consumers.

Then, Mosharraf Hossain, the plant manager of noodles plant, showed the ten steps of forming noodles such as primary processing of flour sheet, noodles formation, steaming, pressure and tempering, separating of noodles rows, flying, hot oil spray for drying, cooling, packaging and wrapping. They basically produce instant noodles and stick noodles in two flavors of chicken and masala.
